I didn’t perform on stage but had to give classes in the Army and law enforcement career. These classes were like speeches in front of a group teaching a topic. I was totally terrified of speaking in front of people until an army instructor taught me that the topic was more important than me delivering the topic.

I learned to focus on learning the topic well enough to teach it and not being in front of people to teach it. A

fter years of that in both careers, I am now retired and don’t want to be in front of people any longer.
