Amazon told me a package hit the post office today. Delivered at 6:47.
The front counter closes at 4:30.
I looked at the photo at 7:03 from my house. They left it on the lobby counter by the boxes. Open floor. Anybody walking in can grab it. High chance somebody was going to.
So I jumped in the truck and went to see if it was still there.
Post office was closed. Packages were sitting up on that counter like it was no big deal. Mine was there. Somebody else’s was there too — T.L. Wesson. They left both of them.
Unacceptable, Amazon. Very unacceptable. Hope Mr. or Ms. Wesson got theirs.
This has been eating at me for a few years.
There was a time Amazon could find my house. The package was on the porch when I got home from work. Or in the parcel box by the road. No drama.
Then stuff started landing at other people’s houses. I still don’t understand that. The numbers on my mailbox are gigantic. You cannot miss them. I’ll show you in the video. After enough of Lauren’s packages and mine coming up gone — refund, reorder, rinse, repeat — we said enough. Use the post office box I’ve had for about ten years.
Now even that is sloppy. Tracking says delivered. Front desk doesn’t have it. Already happened once. Makes no sense.
This time the window jumped to around 5:45. I figured, fine, grab it in the morning. Then the photo drops at 6:47. The building was closed. Good luck with your stuff.
It’s not like they dropped it on my porch. Oh wait — they couldn’t find the porch back then either.
Same story with the post office itself. “Delivered” to my mailbox or parcel box and it isn’t there.
I’m going to start documenting this every time it happens and posting it. Tag Amazon. Hey — you’re broke. This is nuts.
Pulled up to the mailbox on the way home. Dark out. Numbers still big as day. Got out and showed the other side. Fogged the lens a little. Still can’t miss the address.
Can’t find my house. Can leave a package on an open counter after hours.
Unbelievable.
